The Japanese will build a medical equipment plant in the Fergana region

Uzbekistan, Tashkent - AN Podrobno.uz. Several projects are being implemented in Fergana together with investors from Japan, and efforts to expand common ground and attract investment are already yielding results. Representatives of the Rotobo association are visiting the republic these days; a business forum was held as part of the visit, reports a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

The Japanese Rotobo Association includes more than 100 large industrial corporations, trading firms, banks and investment funds, transport and logistics companies, including such giants as Toyota, Mitsubishi and many others.

Guests from Japan who arrived in the region got acquainted with industrial enterprises and the Kokand free economic zone. Then an Uzbek-Japanese business forum was held in Rishtan, at which the economic and financial potential of the Fergana region was presented. 90 businessmen from Fergana and heads of Japanese companies took part in it.

During the negotiations, joint projects in industry and agriculture were discussed. Japanese businessmen are interested in creating an eco-city in Fergana, and the creation of a Japanese garden and a medical center has already begun.

Businessmen also want to build a specialized center here, launch the production of medical equipment, and bring technology from Japan. There are intentions to cooperate in the fields of finance, real estate and restaurant business.

As a result of the forum, a package of investment agreements worth $30 million was signed.
