Tashkent to produce lung ventilators
The Uzbek capital Tashkent has seen the launch of the Russian-Slovak-Uzbek enterprise Chirana Asia. A $6mn project is to annually produce 500 artificial lung ventilation devices.
The president of Shimco Group Vasily Shimko on March 16 reported that the devices manufactured in Tashkent will use a membrane compressor instead of a turbine, which significantly increases the service duration and reduces the cost of ventilator maintenance.
The first ventilator was transferred to the Republican Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Tashkent in May 2020.
Up to 80% of the manufactured products are planned to be exported to the countries of Central Asia, first of all, to Afghanistan. The company also has agreements with Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
