Project C.U.R.E. established in 1987 by James Jackson (father of the current leader) to help developing countries overcome the lack of modern medical equipment and devices, is the world’s largest distributor of medical supplies to charity. At present, the organization’s activities cover 135 countries of the world, the number of organization’s volunteers exceeds 20 thousand.
During the conversation, the American side showed interest in the efforts of the Government of Uzbekistan to overcome the consequences of the Aral catastrophe. In particular, at the initiative of the head of our state, under the auspices of the UN, in November 2018, the Multi-Partner Trust Fund for Human Security for the Aral Sea region was created. Norway was the first country to respond to the establishment of such a fund, providing US$1.2 million to support its activities. In June, the Steering Committee, consisting of representatives of the Government, donors (EU Delegation to Uzbekistan, Embassy of Japan), local NGOs, and UN agencies, approved two project proposals for a total of US$3.085 million. Project implementation is planned to begin in July.
Following the results of the constructive meeting, an agreement was reached on the elaboration of the issue of sending an expert group Project C.U.R.E to Uzbekistan. to assess the needs of local hospitals in medical equipment, devices, equipment and others. The organization of such a trip is an integral part of the interaction, prior to the start of direct deliveries to the region.
