10 AI-based solutions will be implemented in medicine in Uzbekistan — Mirziyoyev

The President announced the introduction of a new training system for medical personnel in the regions with the involvement of specialized centers. Teams from the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care will train specialists at the lower levels.

Each team will include a neurosurgeon, an anesthesiologist, a resuscitator, an assistant doctor, and nurses. Their task will be to create groups of staff in local medical institutions capable of providing qualified care to patients.

Then the staff of these groups will undergo internships at the RSCEMC for a period of 3−4 months. In the future, the new system will cover other specialized medical institutions.

Starting in 2027, the heads of all 26 specialized medical centers will switch to working under annual contracts. Their duties will include introducing innovations and scientific developments in their field, as well as improving the qualifications of workers at the lower levels.

Foreign experts from reputable university clinics will study the work of the centers in order to identify shortcomings and outline priority tasks for management. At the end of the year, each director will report to the public, and the decision to extend the contract will be made based on the results of their work.

It has also been instructed to introduce mechanisms for the public to evaluate the work of doctors in hospitals and polyclinics. Medical staff salaries will be tied to performance indicators (KPI), in particular — to the degree of citizens’ satisfaction with the services.

In addition, it is planned to introduce up to 10 artificial intelligence-based solutions in cardiology, hepatology, ophthalmology, and hematology. They will make it possible to monitor patients remotely and determine diagnoses from speech.

Greater attention will be paid to the use of new technologies by medical personnel. In each region, it is planned to organize competitions for the best IT operators and digital medicine doctors with cash prizes of up to 100 million soums.

The Head of State called on medical associations to increase activity related to improving doctors’ qualifications abroad and introducing new treatment methods. For this purpose, a decree was signed to expand the powers of the associations, as well as to hold elections for their leadership every 2−3 years.

Another priority will be the expansion of benefits in the healthcare sector. For doctors who have worked for 15 years or more, 50 billion soums in mortgage subsidies will be allocated, and a payment of 25% of the down payment on a mortgage is also being introduced for 500 young specialists per year.

Allowances for doctors working in remote areas will more than double starting in 2027 — from 2 million to 4.5 million soums. When moving to a remote region, medical workers will receive a one-time incentive of 50 million soums.

Special attention will be paid to attracting doctors from among compatriots with foreign experience to Uzbek medical institutions. They will receive allowances of up to 50 million soums, workplaces equipped with modern facilities, and the right to independently recruit teams.

Earlier, Spot wrote that $200 million will be provided for the construction of private clinics in the districts.
